Charlotte, NC Baby & Family Portrait Sessions
It's crazy how time really does seem to fly. One year ago, one of my best friends brought her little boy home from the hospital. To be born in the middle of a pandemic is no small thing. I drove by her house and took photographs from my car as they introduced their new baby to his older brother.
At that point, she broke down in tears, she may hate me for posting this but I think it is by far the most telling photo of the times and the burden a mom carries. As she holds her smiling toddler the rush of emotions that she's now a mom of 2, the feeling like you are betraying your only child to give them the best gift of a sibling, dealing with her and her husband losing their jobs, no friends able to visit, she has just been cut open to bring life to the world while thousands of people take have taken their last breaths, the loss of her mom just a few weeks ago who never got to meet her newest grandson, the worry that she may be bringing Coronavirus home from the hospital. Not being able to have newborn photos taken, having her baby shower canceled.
All of these things hit you like a brick. This should be a happy time, but instead, it's scary and terrifying. This moment made me cry like a baby right along with her. Shelle Cofer Whisenhunt I hope this image shows you the strength and power you have and reminds you that no matter what life throws your way you will make it through for these 2 little guys.
Welcome to the crazy world, Paulson Riggs Whisenhunt. I've enjoyed getting to photograph your milestones through your first year and you handled your cake smash session like a champ!
